Hydrated Lime Hydrated lime is the commonly used name of the inorganic chemical compound calcium hydroxide {Ca(OH)2}. It is obtained when quicklime is crushed and is mixed, or "slaked", with water. Hydrated lime is a colorless crystal, and has the appearance of a white powder.
